Antigua ciudad del oeste de Siria.

Situada a poca distancia al sudoeste de la actual Homs, fue capturada en el s. XV BC por el faraón egipcio Tutmosis III. Permaneció como puesto de avanzada egipcio hasta que pasó a dominio hitita a mediados del s. XIV BC. El faraón egipcio Seti I la recuperó, y en 1275 BC fue escenario de una batalla entre las fuerzas de Ramses II y del hitita Muwatallis. Después de ser invadida por los hombres del mar 1185 BC, Kadesh desapareció de la historia.
